Washington, D.C. — Standard Communities, the affordable housing division of Standard Property Company, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Somerset Pointe Apartments in Gainesville, Virginia. All 276 apartment homes will continue to provide affordable housing to low-income residents under an agreement with the Virginia Housing Development Authority.
“Housing costs in the greater Washington D.C. area have continued to climb in recent years, and we are excited to be in a position to continue providing a high-quality housing option that is affordable for low-income families,” said Standard Communities Partner and Head of East Coast Operations Joseph Ouellette.
Somerset Pointe features 276 apartment homes, as well as a community clubhouse, business center, gym, swimming pool, and playground on approximately 14 acres in Prince William County. The apartments are a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom units, providing many families an opportunity to live in close proximity to nearby retail and employment centers, as well as take advantage of the area’s high-performing public school system.
