“Standard takes a holistic approach to integrating sustainable practices into our transactions. The major sustainability upgrades completed at the Fort Chaplin benefit the residents and the community. We’re extremely proud of the impact that we’ve made,” said Scott Alter, Co-Founder and Principal of Standard Communities.
“With our preservation developments around the country, it is very important for us to work together with the tenant association’s board members to align our vison with theirs. It is not uncommon for a buyer and seller to come to an agreement on the sale of the facility, but for Standard, it is important for us to also get input from the tenants," said Tommy Attridge Director of Southeast Production for Standard Communities.
"Praised by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Standard Communities’ acquisition and rehabilitation of the 549-unit Fort Chaplin Park Apartments was the largest tax-exempt bond and Low Income Housing Tax Credit-financed preservation of affordable housing transaction in Washington, D.C., history. Fort Chaplin Park Apartments received the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition’s Excellence Award in the Preservation Category and features the largest rooftop community solar system in D.C." said Scott Alter, Principal and Co-Founder of Standard Communities.
Standard Communities, received the Excellence Award for Best Multifamily Remodel from the Frederick County Building Industry Association (FCBIA).
