When acquired by Standard Communities in 2016, all 124 “at-risk” affordable units, all affordability programs in place were set to expire. At closing, a project-based Section 8 contract was renewed. In 2017, Standard completed a $44,000/unit renovation using Tax Exempt Bonds and 4% LIHTCs. Unit mix ranges from studio apartments to 4-bedroom duplexes, providing much-needed family-size units in a high opportunity, transit-oriented location 50 minutes from Midtown Manhattan.
