Consisting of one 6-story building, Forest Apartments is an 80-unit 100% senior Section 8 community. The property was built in 1979. Standard Communities acquired the property in 2018 and was one of six properties acquired as part of the Urban Innovations/Illinois HAP Portfolio. With the acquisition of the property, Forest Apartments is no longer at risk of exiting affordability programs, as the apartments are now preserved as affordable housing for the long-term. The tax-exempt bond financing arranged for this acquisition was the largest for a single project in Illinois history.
